    Texas HOPE Literacy, Inc. is a faith based organization dedicated to empowering at-risk children, youth, and adults to become productive citizens in today's world. Prosperity Renewal Ministries partners with this organization by teaching finance workshops in local prisons.

    Prisoners are in need of writing materials - pens, pencils, writing paper, tablets, etc. Contact Us and we will pick up and deliver items to prison(s).

    There is always an urgent need for more teachers, mentors, and facilitators. Contact Us or Hope Literacy to volunteer.

    CASA Volunteer Advocates are ordinary people who are committed to standing up for the "best interests" of abused or neglected children.

    CASA Volunteer Advocates are appointed by judges to be a voice for abused or neglected children in court.

    CASA Volunteer Advocates may offer the only stable relationship abused or neglected children experience as they move from foster homes to permanent placement.

    CASA volunteers speak for the best interests of the child after research, review, and, most importantly, learning the wishes of the child.

    The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he or she can thrive.

    The largest part of Legal Aid's work is providing legal services to individual low income people to solve individual problems such as public assistance denials, divorce and child support, evictions, foreclosures, domestic violence, and consumer fraud.

  4. Angels Recovery House
    The mission of Angels Recovery House is to pull men and women out of less than fortunate situations by assisting them to turn their lives around by pointing them to Jesus Christ, and by providing them a safe place to live with guidance and hope to become productive members of our society and communities.

    The purpose of Angels House is to provide a safe living place for men and women who have nowhere else to go in their escape from dangerous situations, i.e., domestic violence, drugs, alcohol, sexual abuse, poverty.

    Angels Recovery House also serves as an aftercare facility for those released from prisons.

    There is urgent need for food, clothes, personal care items, and furniture.

    To sponsor a resident the cost is $75 to $125 per week.

    The role of the volunteer within TDCJ is to provide guidance in specific activities and programs, promote personal growth and development, provide support and assistance to victims and offenders, and help facilitate re-entry into the community. If you are interested in becoming an approved volunteer within TDCJ please print the Volunteer Application, complete all information indicating your area of interest, and mail to address on application.

    The Texas Department of Criminal Justice places a significant focus on volunteer services, realizing volunteers are an essential element in the rehabilitation and re-entry of offenders into communities.

    Volunteers are utilized in the following Divisions and Departments to contribute services or provide opportunities for offenders to develop the life skills, education, vocational training, work habits, and behaviors needed to abstain from criminal activity and substance abuse, successfully secure gainful employment, and responsibly reintegrate into communities.

  1. International Commission
    International Commission equips believers to conduct church to church partnership evangelism so that the redeeming love of Jesus Christ can be shared with unbelievers.

    IC provides training and preparation for US participants and host churches, which helps them understand the cultural differences, language barriers and realize how God can best use them.

    The ideal team consists of a pastor or layman who is willing to preach. 1-3 additional lay persons. Each team will work side by side with the pastor and leadership of an assigned church in the host country.

    Interpreters are used to effectively communicate the Gospel in the Project work of visitation and evangelistic church services.
